What a storm restoration job involves.
A hailstorm that damages a roof rarely damages only the roof. The same stones hit the gutters, the fence, the siding, the window screens and anything soft on the exterior, and if water got past the roof there is interior damage underneath it as well. All of that belongs in one claim rather than in several.
Where restoration goes wrong is scope. A claim settled on the roof alone leaves the homeowner paying out of pocket for the parts that were damaged in the same event but were never written up. Once a claim is closed, adding to it is far harder than including it in the first place. The inspection that comes before the adjuster visit is the moment that scope is set.

The Difference
Where the details matter.
The work also has to run in the right order, and that is the practical argument for one company rather than five. The roof has to be watertight before interior repairs go in, or the new ceiling gets ruined by the next rain. Gutters and fascia come after the roof edge is finished. Paint goes on last. A homeowner coordinating separate trades ends up sequencing that themselves, usually while living in it.
Interior damage from a roof leak is the part most often underestimated. A stain on a ceiling is the visible end of water that has already been in the insulation and possibly in the wall cavity. Repairing the drywall without dealing with what is behind it puts a clean finish over a wet problem, and it comes back.
On the claim itself, the process is the same one we use for roof claims. We document what the storm did, meet the adjuster at the property, and go through what the policy covers and why. The claim stays yours to file, which is how Texas requires it, and no contractor can pay, waive or absorb your deductible.
If a storm has been through, the useful first step is a free inspection of the whole exterior rather than the roof on its own, so what goes into the claim is what actually happened.

Storm Restoration, answered.
What counts as storm damage besides the roof?
Gutters and downspouts, fencing, siding, window screens, soft metal like vents and flashing, and any interior damage from water that got in. All of it can belong in the same claim if it came from the same event.
Can I add to a claim after it is settled?
It is much harder. Supplements are possible in some cases, but the practical answer is that scope is easiest to get right before the adjuster writes it. That is why the inspection ahead of the adjuster visit matters.
Why use one company for all of it?
Sequence. The roof has to be watertight before interior repairs go in, gutters and fascia follow the finished roof edge, and paint goes last. Separate trades means coordinating that yourself while living in the house.
Do you handle the interior repairs too?
Yes, once the source is fixed. Drywall, ceilings and repainting after a roof leak are part of the scope, but repairing the finish before the leak is dealt with only buries the problem.
Will you cover my deductible?
No, and no contractor in Texas can. Paying, waiving or absorbing a deductible is illegal here. Anyone offering it is telling you something about how they run the rest of the job.
