Every job we do starts here, and it costs nothing. We get on the roof, walk all of it, and photograph what we find so you can see it without climbing a ladder.
A proper inspection covers more than the field of shingles. The valleys, the flashing where the roof meets a wall or a chimney, the pipe boots, the ridge, the ventilation and the gutter line all fail in their own ways and on their own timelines. A roof can look fine from the street with a cracked boot that has been letting water into the decking for two seasons.

If there is storm damage, the inspection is also the start of the paper trail. Photographs from every slope, taken before anything is touched, are what a claim eventually stands on. If there is no damage worth claiming, we will say that too.
The part people find unusual is that we are happy to tell you the roof is fine. A roof with eight years left is a roof with eight years left, and saying otherwise would get us one job and cost us every referral that came after it.
You do not need to be home for the inspection itself, though most people prefer to be there for the walkthrough afterwards.

How long does it take?
Usually under an hour for a single-family home, longer for a large or complex roofline. We walk you through the photographs afterwards.
What if you find nothing wrong?
Then we tell you the roof is fine and roughly how long it has left. That is a perfectly normal outcome and it happens often.
Do I need an inspection before filing a claim?
It is the sensible order. Documenting the damage before you file gives the claim something concrete to stand on, and it is much harder to add evidence after an adjuster has already formed a view.
